LA Sparks Star Cameron Brink Hospitalized After Alleged Domestic Violence by Fiancé Ben Felter …

Posted on May 7, 2026May 7, 2026 by Joe Sam

shockwaves through the WNBA community, rising star Cameron Brink of the Los Angeles Sparks was rushed to a local hospital on Wednesday afternoon following what sources describe as a brutal domestic violence incident involving her fiancé, Ben Felter.

According to preliminary police reports obtained by this outlet, officers responded to a distress call at the couple’s upscale residence in the Brentwood area around 2:45 p m. Paramedics found Brink, 23, with visible injuries including facial swelling, bruises on her arms and torso, and a possible concussion. She was immediately transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she remains under observation in stable but serious condition.

Witnesses who spoke on condition of anonymity described hearing raised voices escalating into a physical altercation. “It was terrifying,” one neighbor said. “We heard yelling, things breaking, and then a scream. We called 911 right away.” Law enforcement sources confirm Felter, a former Stanford rower, was taken into custody at the scene on suspicion of domestic battery and assault causing great bodily injury. He is currently being held pending bail.

Brink, the 2024 WNBA Draft’s second overall pick known for her explosive athleticism, shot-blocking prowess, and burgeoning modeling career, had been enjoying a strong sophomore season with the Sparks. Teammates and coaches expressed heartbreak over the news. “Cameron is not just a phenomenal player but a radiant light in our locker room,” said Sparks head coach Lynne Roberts in a brief statement. “Our thoughts are with her, and we stand firmly against any form of violence.”

The couple’s relationship had been closely followed by fans since their engagement in Paris last September. Felter, who proposed at the luxurious Shangri-La Hotel, often appeared supportive at games and on social media. Friends close to the pair described their romance as whirlwind, beginning with a bold email from Felter while both were student-athletes at Stanford.

Domestic violence experts warn that high-profile athletes are not immune to such tragedies. “Success on the court doesn’t shield anyone from private pain,” said Dr. Elena Ramirez of the Los Angeles Domestic Abuse Center. “We urge anyone in a similar situation to reach out for help immediately.”

As of press time, the Sparks organization has not commented further, citing privacy concerns, while the WNBA issued a statement emphasizing its zero-tolerance policy on domestic violence. Brink’s family has requested space as she recovers.

This incident highlights the urgent need for continued awareness and resources in the fight against intimate partner violence. Updates will follow as more details emerge from the investigation.
