Mikayla Blakes Breaks Caitlin Clark’s College Scoring Record

Tiffany Mitchell, a guard for the Seattle Storm, is among several WNBA players currently playing professionally in Israel who are working to return home following military action between Israel and Iran. The situation has raised urgent concerns for players abroad, their families, and former college programs.

Mitchell, who joined the Storm midway through last season after starting with the Las Vegas Aces, has been navigating challenges both on and off the court. In her time with Seattle, she appeared in 24 games, averaging 3.0 points, 1.0 rebound, and 13 minutes per contest. Despite limited playing time, she has remained focused and resilient, approaching every opportunity with the mindset of a player prepared to contribute at a high level.

South Carolina coach Dawn Staley has been vocal about the urgency of bringing Mitchell and other former Gamecocks, including Destiny Littleton and Mikiah Herbert Harrigan, safely back to the United States. Staley urged fans and the public to keep the players in their prayers while the school and the league coordinate plans for their safe return. Mitchell herself shared Staley’s message on social media, adding a series of prayer hands emojis to emphasize the seriousness of the situation.

Mitchell’s 10-year professional career includes stints with multiple WNBA teams, including Indiana, Minnesota, Connecticut, Las Vegas, and Seattle. Her experience navigating transitions and overcoming adversity has prepared her for challenging situations both on the court and off. As the situation develops, attention remains on ensuring the safe return of Mitchell and her fellow athletes while the international situation unfolds.

This incident has also affected other WNBA players in Israel, such as Vivians”,”wnba player”], Arella Guiranteswnba player”], and Evina Westbrook
