Being the nephew of Super Bowl-winning quarterbacks definitely comes with its ups and downs, and for Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning, the benefits clearly outweigh the drawbacks. However, there are times when the advice he receives is a bit more than he bargained for. This was the case when the 19-year-old reached out to his Pro Football Hall of Fame uncle, Peyton Manning, with a question about a two-minute drill. Given Peyton’s detail-oriented style throughout his NFL career, it’s no surprise he was eager to provide an in-depth response.
As Peyton shared with Kay Adams on the Up & Adams show, he ended up sending Arch three eight-minute voice memos, prompting a humorous reaction from his nephew. “He texted me with a question about a two-minute drill, and three eight-minute voice memos later… he was like, ‘You know what? I can probably find this information somewhere else,'” Peyton said.
While Arch has likely received a lot of advice from both Peyton and Eli over the years, this particular response seemed to be a bit much. Since stepping in as the starter at Texas after Quinn Ewers’ injury, Manning has excelled, completing 70.5 percent of his passes for 900 yards, nine touchdowns, and just two interceptions this season.
