Nebraska senior guard Micah Mazzccua won’t play against Illinois, Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule said Monday.
Mazzccua didn’t play against Northern Iowa and was listed as the No. 2 right guard behind Henry Lutovsky on Monday’s depth chart.
“He won’t play this week,” Rhule said. “He’s on the team, he’s practicing with us, he’s just working through some stuff right now.”
With Mazzccua out, Nebraska will turn to Lutovksy, who started Saturday’s win over Northern Iowa — his fifth start in the program.
“If you go back to Colorado, we put Henry in the fourth quarter and Henry played the fourth quarter. Henry is a guy we ear-marked as a starter at the beginning of the year and Micah and Justin (Evans) did a great job for us the first game, but Henry is healthy now.”
