West Ham United completed the stunning signing of Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice in the summer transfer window.
West Ham struck a deal to sign Jean-Clair Todibo on a season-long loan from the Ligue 1 side, and we have an obligation to make that deal a permanent one next summer.
The only potential downside of the deal is that it has been claimed that West Ham could fund a deal to sign Jean-Clair Todibo permanently by selling Mohammed Kudus.
However, only time will tell as to whether that is indeed the case or not.
And until then, we just need to enjoy the fact that we have one of the very best central defenders in world football amongst our ranks.
It just shows the pull we have as a club, and new information has now come to light regarding the transfer that brought Todibo to the London Stadium.
New Jean-Clair Todibo claim will stun the West Ham fans
The towering French centre-back has absolutely everything needed to succeed in the Premier League.
And once he’s up to speed, he will be a crucial player for the Hammers.
We just all need to be patient with him, and allow him the time he needs to adjust to life in England.
A new claim has just emerged, highlighting just how well West Ham did to actually sign the 24-year-old defender in the first place.
According to a report from The Athletic, Newcastle held a meeting with Todibo in July, whilst Tottenham were keen to sign the Frenchman as well.
So West Ham managed to beat not only Juventus, but two huge Premier League clubs in the form of Newcastle and Tottenham to the signing of the 24-year-old.
That is truly outstanding when you think about it really isn’t it.
Todibo will be a huge hit at West Ham
Sure, the Frenchman looked incredibly rusty during his first start for the Hammers on Wednesday night against Bournemouth.
However, he just needs to get his fitness levels to where they should be and adapt to Lopetegui’s system.
I have no doubts that we will then see the best of him.
He’s perfectly suited to the Premier League what with his power, impressive pace and willingness to embrace the physical side of the game.
The France international is incredibly comfortable in possession of the football as well, and is a very able passer.
Jean-Clair Todibo will go on to enjoy a hugely successful time at West Ham, I’m convinced of it. I still can’t believe that we actually managed to sign him!
