With the recent release of the NBA schedule, there have been plenty of appetizing matchups announced by the league.
One great matchup is on opening night, and it will involve the champion Boston Celtics hosting the rival New York Knicks on Oct. 22.
Celtics legend Kevin Garnett recently revealed his feelings about the matchup on “All The Smoke.”
“The league is listening. They heard us. … That’s gonna be fire. We got the Nova Knicks coming into the B,” Garnett said.

The Celtics are fresh off of their league-leading 18th NBA title and are primed to defend it.
The Knicks revamped their roster this offseason by trading for talented swingman Mikal Bridges and re-signing All-NBA defender OG Anunoby.
With the addition of Bridges, he reunites with his old Villanova teammates, All-Star guard Jalen Brunson, veteran Josh Hart and former NBA champion Donte DiVincenzo.
After winning 50 games in the regular season for the first time in over a decade, Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau has the team headed in the right direction.
That is one of the many reasons they were chosen to face Boston on opening night in the NBA.
New York could be seen as a real threat to Boston because it has capitalized on a successful season with a successful offseason.
However, the Knicks will have their work cut out for them because the Celtics ran through everybody on their way to the title last season.
But one thing is for sure. Opening night could be wild in Boston.
