On March 5, 2025, Keith Richards, the 81-year-old guitarist of The Rolling Stones, was presented with the inaugural Connecticut Governor’s Award of Excellence at the Westport Library. The award recognizes Richards’ creativity, passion, and generosity, reflecting his significant contributions both musically and philanthropically.
Richards has been a resident of Weston, Connecticut, since 1985, actively supporting local organizations and causes. Governor Ned Lamont praised Richards for embodying the state’s values and for his impactful support of various community initiatives.
