Eustace reveals Blackburn Rovers’ Dolan and Gallagher stance

The Lancashire Telegraph exclusively revealed last week that Dolan is set to stay at Rovers this summer after talks with the hierarchy. The 22-year-old remains fully committed to the club but no fresh deal is in the offing.

Similarly, Gallagher could be of interest to other clubs. Rovers rejected bids up to £1.5million from Ipswich Town in January for the striker. He is amongst the club’s highest earners.

With Ryan Hedges and Arnor Sigurdsson also out of contract next summer, Rovers have decisions to make around their attacking options. Not to mention the obvious uncertainty around top-scorer Sam Szmodics.

Whilst many people would like to see players sold before their contracts expire, Eustace reiterated his desire to keep Dolan and Gallagher at Rovers, regardless of their contract status.

“I want to keep the boys and as long as they’re here, they will be playing and they will be involved,” Eustace told The Lancashire Telegraph.

“They will be in the squad and it’s important to me that everyone who is here, no matter how long they have on their contract, understand their roles and responsibilities.

“They do and they will be giving 100 per cent to the football club and their team-mates.”

Dom Hyam is the other Blackburn Rovers player who will be a free agent in 12 months’ time unless his deal is renewed.

Dilan Markanday, Jack Vale and Zak Gilsenan are on deals until 2025 too but each has a one-year option in their deal, leaving Rovers in control of their future.
