David Gilmour’s “Luck and Strange” Crosses 4 Million Streams on Spotify

London, UK – Legendary Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour’s latest solo album, “Luck and Strange,” has achieved a significant milestone, surpassing 4 million streams on Spotify. The album, released in September 2024, continues to resonate with fans worldwide, demonstrating Gilmour’s enduring appeal.

“Luck and Strange,” Gilmour’s first new studio material in nine years, has been met with critical acclaim since its debut. The album features eight new tracks, largely penned by his long-time collaborator and wife Polly Samson, along with a reinterpretation of The Montgolfier Brothers’ “Between Two Points.” Notably, the album also includes a poignant contribution from the late Pink Floyd keyboardist Richard Wright, recorded during a 2007 jam session.

The success of “Luck and Strange” on streaming platforms underscores the album’s broad reach and the continued eagerness of fans to engage with Gilmour’s distinctive musical artistry. The album’s themes, exploring mortality and aging from an older perspective, have clearly struck a chord with listeners.

The achievement on Spotify adds to the album’s already impressive performance, which saw it debut at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales Chart and secure a top 10 position on the Billboard 200 upon its release. “Luck and Strange” has also been supported by a series of highly anticipated live performances, further cementing its place as a significant entry in Gilmour’s illustrious solo career.
