Chicago Sky star Angel Reese recently took to social media to share an intriguing message with her fans just days after losing the WNBA Rookie of the Year award. Reese finished second to Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, who received 66 first-place votes, while Reese got just one. Although Reese has been active online since the announcement, she hasn’t commented on the final Rookie of the Year results. On Saturday, she shared that there’s a lot on her mind but emphasized that she’s just focusing on her own business. “I really just be minding my business ’cause it’s a lot to mind,” Reese said. She shared this message with her over 637,000 followers on X, and she boasts a strong social media presence with over eight million combined followers on Instagram, TikTok, and X.
Reese concluded her rookie season with the Sky, averaging 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game. Unfortunately, her season was cut short by a wrist injury with just a few games left, but she still made a significant impact in her 34 games with Chicago. The WNBA All-Star led the league in average rebounds and was the only rookie to average a double-double.
In her rookie season, Clark averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game. She led the WNBA in average assists and topped the rookie class in both points and assists. Clark also played a key role in helping Indiana secure a spot in the WNBA playoffs for the first time since 2016. Although the Fever were eliminated in the first round after being swept by the Connecticut Sun, finishing the season with a 20-20 record as the No. 6 seed marks significant progress for Indiana, especially considering they ended the previous season with a 13-27 record.
