WREXHAM boss Phil Parkinson is celebrating after winning the League One manager of the month award for August.
The Reds, back in the third tier for the first time since 2005 after clinching back-to-back promotions, were unbeaten in the first month of the campaign after securing three wins and a draw to finish August level on points at the top of the table.
Wrexham beat Wycombe Wanderers 3-2 at The Racecourse on the opening day and then drew 0-0 at Bolton Wanderers in the first away league game of the season.
Also nominated alongside Parkinson were Dave Challinor (Stockport County), Chris Davies (Birmingham City) and Michael Skubala (Lincoln City).
Wrexham, who began September by beating Shrewsbury Town 3-0 at home in Saturday’s cross-border derby to take over as League One leaders, are back in action on Monday in a huge game against promotion favourites Birmingham City at St Andrew’s.
