Linn and Jenny Berggren Officially Depart Ace of Base Forever
GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN – June 9, 2025 — In a heartfelt and definitive announcement, Ace of Base has confirmed that Malin “Linn” Berggren and Jenny Berggren, two founding sisters and the band’s most recognizable voices, have permanently stepped away from the group.
Linn, the ethereal voice behind iconic 1990s hits like “The Sign” and “All That She Wants,” has remained out of the public eye for over two decades. Her final decision was made clear in the band’s recent documentary All That She Wants, where Jonas Berggren revealed that Linn “is done with the entertainment industry” and will no longer be involved in any future Ace of Base projects.
Jenny Berggren, who took over lead vocal duties after Linn’s gradual exit in the late ’90s, has also officially cut ties with the band. Though she never issued a formal departure at the time, Jenny has spent the last decade focusing on her solo career and has no plans to participate in future Ace of Base recordings or tours. Her 2010 solo album My Story and her ongoing global performances have kept her connected with fans, but now as a solo artist, not as part of the group.
With both sisters gone, Ace of Base is now solely represented by remaining founding members Jonas Berggren and Ulf Ekberg. The band plans to continue under the original name with archival releases and possibly new collaborations.
The departure of Linn and Jenny marks the end of an era for the Swedish pop powerhouse that once dominated global charts. While their voices may no longer lead the group, their legacy remains an indelible part of ’90s p
op history.
