Former Indiana Fever Guard  Grace Berger Among Victims of  Sunday’s Tragic Shooting Incident …

Indiana Fever community was shattered on Sunday evening when news broke that former Fever guard Grace Berger was among the victims of a horrific shooting incident. The 25-year-old player, who spent two seasons with the franchise before being traded, is currently in stable but serious condition at a local hospital, according to team spokesperson sources.

 

The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. local time at a private gathering in downtown Indianapolis. Preliminary police reports indicate that an altercation between two individuals escalated rapidly, leading to gunfire. Berger, a bystander who was not involved in the argument, was struck by a stray bullet. Two other individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries and have been treated and released.

 

“We are devastated by this senseless act of violence that has touched one of our own,” said Fever General Manager Lin Dunn in a heartfelt statement. “Grace is not just a former player; she is family. Our thoughts are with her, her family, and all those affected during this incredibly difficult time. We have offered our full support to Grace and are cooperating fully with law enforcement.”

 

Fans and fellow athletes have flooded social media with messages of support using the hashtag #GraceStrong. Berger, a standout at the University of Iowa, was known for her tenacity on the court and her warmth off it.
