Susanna Hoffs Announces Permanent Departure from The Bangles to Focus on Solo Career
In a heartfelt announcement, Susanna Hoffs, the iconic lead vocalist and guitarist of The Bangles, has officially declared her permanent departure from the band to concentrate on her flourishing solo endeavors. This decision marks the end of an era for the group that captivated audiences with hits like “Manic Monday” and “Eternal Flame.”
Hoffs’ departure aligns with a significant period in her solo career. She recently unveiled plans for her upcoming solo album, Meanwhile, set to release on March 15, 2025. The album’s lead single, “Everything’s Alright,” has already garnered attention, signaling a new chapter in her musical journey. Additionally, Hoffs is preparing for a 2025 world tour, commencing in April, which promises to showcase both her classic hits and new material.
Beyond music, Hoffs has ventured into literature, publishing her debut novel, This Bird Has Flown, in April 2023. The novel, which offers insights into the music industry, has been well-received and is set for a film adaptation by Universal Pictures.
Reflecting on her journey, Hoffs shared, “I wanted to do new Bangles music. I was driving the other girls crazy calling them. I didn’t want to be a ‘greatest hits’ band. While The Bangles continue with members Vicki Peterson, Debbi Peterson, and Annette Zilinskas, Hoffs’ departure signifies a transformative moment for the band. Fans can look forward to her solo tour and upcoming projects, celebrating her enduring impact on the music world.
