Motörhead Lives Again
In a stunning announcement that has sent shockwaves through the rock and metal communities worldwide, Motörhead has officially declared its retur — with a new frontman stepping up to carry the legendary band’s spirit forward nearly a decade after the death of iconic founder Lemmy Kilmister.
The band revealed that Jax Collins, a dynamic vocalist and bassist known for his gritty tone and fierce stage presence, will join original members Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee as Motörhead’s new frontman. This marks the first time since Lemmy’s passing in 2015 that the band will perform under the Motörhead name.
“Lemmy was Motörhead,” said Campbell in an emotional statement. “We always said we couldn’t replace him. But Jax brings that same raw energy and rock ’n’ roll soul that Lemmy lived for. This isn’t about copying, it’s about continuing the fire.”
The new lineup is set to release a brand-new single titled “Shadow of the Spade” this fall, blending Motörhead’s classic sound with fresh intensity. A global tour called “Live to Win” will follow, showcasing legendary hits alongside new material inspired by the band’s enduring legacy.
Mikkey Dee added, “It’s not just about the music — it’s about honoring Lemmy’s legacy in a way that’s authentic. We want fans old and new to experience Motörhead’s thunder all over again.”
A portion of proceeds from upcoming tours and merchandise sales will be donated to the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund, continuing Motörhead’s tradition of supporting important causes.
While fans express a mix of excitement and nostalgia, one thing is clear: Motörhead’s roar hasn’t faded. With Jax Collins at the helm alongside Campbell and Dee, Motörhead truly lives again — louder, fiercer, and more relentless than ever.
