Scottish rock legends Simple Minds have officially announced the release of their highly anticipated 20th studio album, set to drop in late 2025. This milestone comes alongside the continuation of their expansive Alive & Kicking World Tour, marking one of the most ambitious chapters in their four-decade career.

Frontman Jim Kerr expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming album, stating, “We’re incredibly proud of this new music. It feels fresh, vital, and full of the energy we’ve always strived to bring to our fans. This album is a celebration of everything we’ve experienced—and everything that’s still ahead.”

The band is currently captivating audiences across North America with their Alive & Kicking Tour, their most extensive live run in the U.S. and Canada in four decades. The tour, which began in May 2025, features special guests Soft Cell and Modern English, and includes performances at major venues such as Ball Arena in Denver and Centre Bell in Montreal.

In addition to the tour, Simple Minds released a new live album, Live In The City Of Diamonds, on April 24, 2025. The album captures their electrifying performance at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome during their 2024 Global Tour, featuring classic tracks and fan favorites.

Fans can also look forward to the band’s upcoming memoir, Some Promised Land, co-authored by Jim Kerr and guitarist Charlie Burchill, set for release in October 2025. The book delves into their longstanding friendship and the band’s history.

With the new album, ongoing world tour, and forthcoming memoir, 2025 is shaping up to be a landmark year for Simple Minds, reaffirming their enduring legacy in the music world.
