Legendary Guitarist Phil Campbell Rejoins Motörhead for Special Anniversary Tour
In a surprise announcement that has electrified rock and metal communities worldwide, Phil Campbell, Motörhead’s longtime guitarist, is officially rejoining the band for a special 50th anniversary tribute tour. Though Motörhead disbanded in 2015 following the death of frontman Lemmy Kilmister, Campbell’s return marks a powerful revival of the band’s legacy in collaboration with former drummer Mikkey Dee and a lineup of carefully selected guest vocalists.
Phil Campbell joined Motörhead in 1984 and remained a cornerstone of the band’s sound for over 30 years, contributing to classic albums like Orgasmatron, 1916, and Inferno. His return is not only a nod to his immense talent and influence but also a heartfelt tribute to the legacy of Lemmy, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond on and off the stage.
The tour, titled “Born to Lose – Live to Win: The Legacy Lives”, will feature a series of international dates starting in the UK and extending across Europe, North America, and Japan. Guest vocalists will include renowned figures from the metal world, such as Rob Halford (Judas Priest), Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), and even members of Metallica, all paying homage to the legendary band.
In a statement, Campbell said, “This isn’t a reunion, it’s a celebration. Lemmy’s spirit is with us, and this is our way of keeping the fire burning for the fans. Motörhead was never just a band — it was a lifestyle, a family. And we’re back to roar louder than ever.”
Fans can expect blistering renditions of classics like Ace of Spades, Overkill, and Killed by Death, along with rare gems from the band’s extensive catalog. Tickets go on sale next week, with early access for fan club
members.
