In a stunning posthumous announcement that has electrified the heavy metal world, it has been confirmed that a treasure trove of previously unreleased recordings featuring Udo Dirkschneider from his early days with Accept will be officially released later this year. The recordings, long thought to be lost, were discovered in a private studio archive by Dirkschneider’s son and U.D.O. drummer, Sven Dirkschneider.

The collection, titled “Metal Legacy: The Lost Tapes (1979–1983)”, includes raw demo versions, alternate takes, and never-before-heard tracks from the Breaker, Restless and Wild, and Balls to the Wall sessions. According to sources close to the project, Udo had expressed his desire before his passing in March 2025 that these recordings be shared with the fans who stood by him for over four decades.

“This isn’t just music—it’s a final handshake from my father to the metal community,” said Sven in an emotional statement. “He always believed the fans deserved everything. Now, they’ll hear the voice of Accept at its rawest and most powerful, one last time.”

The release will be accompanied by a deluxe box set featuring rare photos, handwritten lyrics, and a short memoir penned by Udo himself, completed just weeks before his death. A limited vinyl edition and a global streaming release are planned for September 2025.

Fans of Accept and classic metal can rejoice knowing that the thunderous roar of Udo Dirkschneider will echo once more, reminding the world why he remains one of the most iconic voices in metal history.

For those who loved him, this release is more than music—it’s a lasting legacy.
