Rangers to launch ‘second bid’ imminently as United States int’l says YES to Ibrox switch

Posted on June 10, 2026 by Kat Jay

Rangers are preparing to intensify their summer transfer business with reports suggesting a “second bid” is imminent for a highly-rated United States international who has already signaled his willingness to make the move to Ibrox. The Scottish giants are keen to strengthen key areas of their squad after a turbulent campaign, and this latest development highlights their aggressive approach in the market.

The player at the center of the speculation is American full-back Bryan Reynolds, currently playing in Belgium. Rangers are believed to have already submitted an initial offer in the region of £2.1 million, which was rejected by his club. However, negotiations have not stalled—instead, they have gathered pace, with a revised proposal expected soon.

What makes this transfer particularly intriguing is the player’s stance. Reynolds has reportedly given Rangers the green light, indicating he is open to the switch to Glasgow. That level of commitment from the player is a significant boost for the Ibrox side, especially as they face competition and must convince selling clubs to lower their resistance.

Manager Danny Röhl is said to be pushing strongly for reinforcements in the right-back position. The club has seen departures in that area, including long-serving captain James Tavernier, leaving a noticeable gap in the squad. With only limited options currently available, bringing in a proven and energetic defender has become a priority heading into the new season.

Reynolds fits the profile Rangers are targeting—young, experienced at international level, and already tested in European football. His time in Belgium has helped him develop tactically, while his earlier spell at AS Roma exposed him to elite-level competition. This combination makes him an appealing option for a team looking to rebuild and compete domestically and in Europe.

The proposed second bid is expected to test the resolve of his current club. Rangers are optimistic that an improved financial package, coupled with the player’s desire to move, could be enough to get the deal over the line. Transfer negotiations often hinge on timing and persistence, and Rangers appear ready to push decisively.

This potential signing also reflects a broader strategy at Ibrox. Following a disappointing league finish, the club has committed to reshaping the squad with fresh talent. Recent moves in the transfer market, including the pursuit of attacking and defensive reinforcements, underline a clear intent to return to title contention.

For supporters, the idea of a United States international joining the ranks brings excitement and anticipation. American players have increasingly made their mark in European football, and Reynolds could become the next to thrive in Scotland if the move materializes.

As talks progress, all eyes will be on Rangers’ next move. Should the second bid be accepted, it could mark one of the club’s key signings of the summer—an early statement of intent as they aim to rebuild, compete, and reclaim their place at the top of Scottish football.
