Euphoria Season 3 is officially in production.
After a significant hiatus, “Euphoria” Season 3 is officially in production, much to the delight of its dedicated fanbase. Production finally commenced in February 2025, following delays attributed to the Hollywood strikes and scheduling conflicts. HBO has confirmed that the core cast, including Zendaya as Rue, Hunter Schafer as Jules, Sydney Sweeney as Cassie, Jacob Elordi as Nate, Alexa Demie as Maddy, Maude Apatow as Lexi, and Eric Dane as Cal, will be returning. However, some familiar faces like Storm Reid (Gia) and Barbie Ferreira (Kat) will not be part of the new season, while several new actors, including Sharon Stone and Rosalía, have joined the ensemble in undisclosed roles.
Details regarding the plot of Season 3 are still largely under wraps, but a significant time jump is expected, moving the characters beyond their high school years. This new setting will likely explore more mature themes and challenges as the characters navigate adulthood. Zendaya has expressed hope that Rue’s journey will involve exploring sobriety and finding “a little bit of happiness and a little bit of joy.” Given the tumultuous events of Season 2, including Rue’s relapse, Lexi’s revealing play, and Nate’s actions against his father, there are numerous storylines poised for further development in this new chapter.
While an exact premiere date has not been announced, HBO has indicated that “Euphoria” Season 3 is expected to debut in 2026. This extended wait is due to the production complexities and the desire to give creator Sam Levinson ample time to craft the new narrative. The shift in setting and the introduction of new characters suggest a fresh direction for the series while retaining the raw emotional intensity and compelling character studies that have made “Euphoria” a cultural phenomenon. Fans are eagerly anticipating the next chapter in the lives of these complex and often troubled young adults.
