“Enola Holmes 3” is officially announced by Netflix.
Great news for fans of the witty young detective! Netflix has officially announced that “Enola Holmes 3” is in production. Following the success of the first two films, Millie Bobby Brown will return to star as Enola Holmes, the fiercely independent and clever younger sister of Sherlock Holmes. This third installment promises another thrilling mystery for Enola to unravel, further cementing her place as a formidable detective in her own right.
Joining Millie Bobby Brown, the core cast that fans have come to love will also be returning. Henry Cavill is set to reprise his role as the brilliant but sometimes exasperated Sherlock Holmes, continuing the dynamic sibling relationship that has been a highlight of the series. Louis Partridge will also be back as Viscount Tewkesbury, Enola’s charming love interest, and Helena Bonham Carter will once again portray their enigmatic mother, Eudoria Holmes. Additionally, Himesh Patel will return as Dr. John Watson, and Sharon Duncan-Brewster will be back as Moriarty, suggesting that familiar characters will play significant roles in Enola’s new adventure.
The third film will see Enola’s investigative journey take her beyond the familiar streets of London. Netflix has revealed that “Adventure chases detective Enola Holmes to Malta, where personal and professional dreams collide in a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before.” This new setting promises exciting possibilities and fresh challenges for Enola as she navigates both a complex case and the evolving stages of her relationship with Tewkesbury.
While an exact release date has not yet been announced, with production currently underway in the UK and potentially moving to Malta, a late 2025 or early 2026 premiere seems likely. Philip Barantini, known for his work on “Adolescence,” will be directing this installment, taking over from Harry Bradbeer, who directed the first two films. The screenplay is penned once again by Jack Thorne, who wrote the previous movies, ensuring a continuity of the spirit and charm that has made the “Enola Holmes” series so popular.
